Our
Philosophy
At
PS&J Software Six Sigma, we believe that adopting a philosophy of continuous improvement
is the best way for an organization to remain competitive. This is
as true for software development and maintenance as it is for anything
else.
Most
organizations can achieve outstanding results through sustained systematic
improvement of their software practices. Unfortunately, many organizations
try, and succeed in doing nothing more than raise their overhead costs.
Over time, we have recognized some over-riding principles that distinguish
the successes from the failures. PS&J Software Six Sigma has incorporated these
principles into all of our products and into our whole approach to doing
business.

Deployment
Model
You
can minimize your risk by using PS&J
Software Six Sigma's phased
deployment model. Each step in the model is a decision point (phase
gate) where, based on the results to date, you can opt to go
forward with the next step or to terminate the effort.
Since
the initial steps require small investments, this minimizes the size of
the investment at risk at any point in time and allows our clients to see
incremental returns before making the decision to make the next
investment.

A
Sampling of Our Client Results
-
An
organization of 150 engineers increased inspection yields from 60% to

They sustained year-over-year productivity gains in the 7% to 10%
region for three years.
-
A
large embedded avionics project with a staff of 30 engineers improved
productivity by 30% while reducing integration and system test defects
by 4x, dropped attrition rate from 15% to 3% and never missed a significant
milestone.
